Hi! I'm Jack from Jacksbackyard.com and I could not let this new online store be all about business. If you've read some of my stories from Jacksbackyard, you know I like to have fun and love to take a pile of lumber and make something from nothing. The inspirations posted on this page are some of my projects never seen before and some projects from people I know who do some very interesting work. My goal is to inspire you to think outside the box and let nature guide you to build what you will build. Think Life.

Trash Can or Planter BoxFrom the beginning this was meant to be a trash can for my office. When you make slats for a porch swing you should always make more than you need. It's not uncommon for pieces to break while milling them or split when you sink a screw. This trash can was made using my spare parts and it's a little too nice for normal trash so it's for paper waste only. For the sake of giving it more credit than being a trash receptacle it would also make a nice planter box.

We never thought our simple mailbox cover would be art. Thanks Bill.
This was an unexpected pleasure. The following notes are from Jack and Bill
Just thought you would like to see my mushroom mailbox. I put a mushroom pull on the door. Thanks for everything. Bill
Hi Bill. That is remarkable. What a work of art! You're making my simple mailbox cover look like a million bucks. My cover is not worthy of what you've done there. Can you tell me how you got to this? Very Inspiring. Can I post on Jack's Backyard and OtterWorksUSA? Jack Jack, I carved this from a cherry trunk 30”by 6 feet. Added the small mushrooms. The caps made from cross sections. My town, Kennett Square, is the mushroom capital of the country. (They claim) Feel free to post as you see fit. Your mailbox kits are the best I’ve seen. Thanks.
