These artful oversized wooden coasters are hand shaped at Otter's Woodshop and they're ready to work. Made of a durable wood they're suitable for everyday use. Sold as a set of four, each coaster comes with a felt backing to help protect surfaces from get scratched or scuffed. Each Coaster is Unique and Patiently Made One at a Time
Each coaster starts as a 1/2" x 6" square blank cut from scraps leftover from some of The Jack Otter's Treehouse projects. The shape is determined by the person making them and they end up at least 4" wide at the shortest span and can be close to 6" on the diagonal measurement. We do not follow a pattern and just let the piece of wood become what it want to be. The top surface is textured from saw cuts and sanded just enough to leave some of the grain raised to help keep your container from sliding around. We attach a patch of felt on the base to help protect surfaces from scratches or scuffs. Hassle free shipping is include with the price.
We leave the coasters natural and let you make the decision if you want to coat them with a sealant or just let them be what they are

When you get the coasters they will be a reddish/ pink color. (right) As they are exposed to ultraviolet light they will tan and get a slight brown color. My personal coaster on the left.

In this photo we have a natural coaster on the left and one we coated with Howard's Feed-N-Wax conditioning oil. This helps protect the surface and gives a rich color.
